GED Center now offered at Adult School

VICTORVILLE -- Victor Valley Adult School has opened a GED Center to serve the Victor Valley, providing an important service for local adults looking to complete their education.

The Victor Valley Union High School district welcomed leaders from the Adelanto Elementary School District and the Victor Elementary School District recent ribbon cutting for the testing center, located on the VVAS campus adjacent to Victor Valley High School. The center will serve the communities of Victorville and Adelanto.

"We are so excited to have this opportunity available for our community,” VVUHSD Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Dr. Fal Asrani said. “It is a much needed option as this will directly impact adults who are entering the job market. So that families in our feeder districts like AESD and VESD can attend classes, we will expand GED evening classes in several of our high school campuses, apart from the Adult School. We truly hope this will support the needs of the community at large."

VVUHSD superintendent Dr. Ron Williams cut the ceremonial ribbon, joined by VVUHSD staff and visitors from AESD and VESD.

At the ceremony, Dr. Williams talked about the Adult School, which currently had about 400 students and had 105 graduates last year. He praised the “phenomenal job” Dr. Lorraine Collins and the VVAS staff have done to establish the testing center.
